Can’t Have Sex? MTV Wants To Tell Your Story

12.21.2009 | Blog

The following is an MTV Media Request. I do not have any additional information, nor can I personally vouch for the show or the producers. However, I am glad to see that they are offering a platform for people to discuss this often secret problem. Hopefully this show can help to educate the public and help those suffering to feel less alone.

Are you incapable of having sexual intercourse? Do you suffer from a physically painful disorder that prevents you from having sex? Perhaps you have a physical handicap, disease or injury that prevents you from engaging in traditional sexual intercourse. Is your inability to have sex psychological? Do you suffer from an anxiety disorder that has completely dulled your sex drive? Maybe your lack of sex drive is a side effect of a prescribed medication. Are you currently going through a gender transition that is preventing you from having sex?

Then MTV would like to hear from you.

MTV’s award-winning documentary series, “True Life,” is producing a new episode about young people who can’t have sex. We’re looking for people who want to tell their stories, share their opinions, and possibly dispel some misconceptions about what it means to be unable to engage in sexual activity.

If you or someone you know might be interested in participating in this documentary, please contact us at: tlcanthavesex@gmail.com

Make sure to include…

  • Your name
  • The city and state where you live
  • How to reach you by phone and e-mail

“True Life” is a documentary series that’s been on MTV for more than 10 years. It chronicles the stories of young people in all kinds of situations, from global and political issues like war and natural disaster to issues of personal struggle like mental illness and family matters. “True Life” is not a reality show. Our producers follow strict ethical guidelines and carefully avoid
influencing our subjects’ stories. It is also not a news show – there is no host, reporter, or narrator. We allow our subjects to tell their own stories in their own voices.
